Clearwater Nights: Sunsets at Pier 60, Concerts at The BayCare Sound and the Beach

Clearwater does nights differently than Tampa or St. Pete. The main event isn't a club. It's the sunset over the Gulf, and everything else builds from there. Add one of the best outdoor concert venues in the region, and Clearwater makes a great night out, especially with a group.

Sunsets at Pier 60

Best for: the start of the night, a group meetup, something different.

Every evening, weather permitting, Clearwater Beach hosts Sunsets at Pier 60, a free festival that runs from about two hours before sunset to two hours after. There are street performers, local artists and live music, and it's one of the few nightly sunset festivals in the country.

It's a low-pressure place to meet up. Nobody has to find a specific table, and the sunset gives everyone a reason to show up on time.

Concerts at The BayCare Sound

Best for: live music with the crew, a planned night.

Downtown, the waterfront Coachman Park is home to The BayCare Sound, an outdoor amphitheater managed by Ruth Eckerd Hall. It has about 4,000 covered seats plus roughly 5,000 lawn spaces, and it books national touring acts.

The fall 2026 lineup includes Rise Against (September 25), Ziggy Marley with Gov't Mule (October 4) and Tedeschi Trucks Band (October 13). Check the venue's schedule for current dates and tickets.

A concert here is one of the easiest group plans there is: one ticket link, one meeting spot, one great night.

The beach after dark

Best for: keeping it casual.

Clearwater Beach packs a lot into a small area. Pier 60, the beach walk, the marina and plenty of restaurants and beach bars are all within walking distance. After the sunset crowd thins out, the beach bars keep going, which makes for an easy night that never needs a car.
